Scarletti Curse Candleglow Christine Feehan Books

Scarletti Curse Candleglow Christine Feehan Books
I read this book for the fourth time since I purchased the book in 2011. It's in the typical style of Christine Feehan's writing, male forcing female to marry him, not for love (at first) but for lust. The male (H) is kind and gentle and that I liked about him. The female (h) is innocent, kind, gentle and loving. She (h) tries to solve the mystery of not only the "curse" but also the deaths and abuse of so many women, while the male (H) is trying to protect his land and his people from enemies. The female (h) solves the mystery to the "curse" and the murderer and abuser. My only problem I have with this particular book is there is no follow-up. How many children did they have? How long did the (h and H) live? How did they live out the rest of their lives? For me, I really need a follow-up book or two.The following is a SPOILER if you have not read any of the Carpathian Series, so DO NOT READ IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW.
Don Giovanni Scarletti, the (H) from The Scarletti Curse, appears in the book Dark Symphony. I can't remember exactly how Don Giovanni Scarlette continues to live but no explanation is every given as to how his beloved wife and (h) from The Scarletti Curse died.

Scarletti Curse Candleglow Christine Feehan Books Reviews
This is my favorite of her book. I own 3 copies. Totally by accident but mostly because I was stuck in England and wanted to read it and didn’t have my copy in the country and then wanted to have it on kindle. Best book of hers
I had a hard time getting through this story. I may need it read to me on audio. But no one will bother to record this pre-quell to Dark Symphony.
That was my first book in the Dark Series.
I was hoping to be enlightened about the curse associated with this mansion and estate. It just couldn't hold my attention.
Or so they say, if one actually believes in the Curse. This book is really hard to get into and doesn't really get interesting until 2/3 of the way through. The whole barefoot and healer thing is reiterated OVER and OVER and there isn't much character development given to Giovanni Scarletti. He is more of an after thought that you don't really get to know well which leaves the character somewhat one-dimensional and flat. I WANTED to get to know him, what he was thinking, feeling, but nope, not gonna happen until the last few chapters. The supporting characters are bland and insipid with little input into the storyline until the final chapters where you discover the machinations and schemes revolving around them. Disappointing on so many levels.
This is a gothic romance, filled with the typical mystery and impending doom of that genre. It is also a bit of a slow burn. While their mutual desire is established early, her love for him is slow growing as she must overcome her doubts given the horror surrounding him and his home. I was up all night reading this. Couldn’t put it down. It’s glorious.
I found this book many years ago when I worked in a bookstore. It was what hooked me onto Christine Feehan's books in the first place. I could almost be in Nicolleta's place as she navigates the palazzo. The interaction between the two characters had me going from the beginning. I am so glad I was able to get it not only in book form, which I still have, but also kindle form to take with me. Very well done!! great read from beginning to end.
I absolutely LOVED this book! Im Very excited to read the "sequel," 'Dark Symphony'! (I just purchased it on for my on my laptop and phone- yay!) I simply cannot Wait to find out what happens next! ) I just Love the characters, the intrigue, and especially the deep, abiding Love and Fire between the two main characters. I really Love the Scarletti family and hope to see more novels to follow... Alas, I think this was just a One time thing. ( BUT I Do have real hope for similar "side books" for the Dark Novels in the future..! I Adore re-reading old Dark Novels that Ive read long ago.. There is not even One in the Dark series that I havent read, at Least once! (Especially when I find a mysterious "side novella" to re-ignite my read of an already read book. Its simply Delish!) Cheers to Feehan! I Love her novels. Especially the Dark novels! I only Wish they would make a movie(s) about the Dark romances.. they are Unique and Beautiful. ENJOY!!
This always happens when I read one of CF books. Love the world she creates yet bored to tears with the book. This one was great yet not. I know that sounds nuts but that's the only way I know how to describe it. It was boring until the end and then I was on the edge of my seat. I was ready to reach into the book and strangle the h of this book. If I heard the words evil or Madonna one more time I thought I'd throw my against the wall. I thought the h was a complete idiot. UGH!
I have love and hate for this book. Are are confused yet? Well your not the only one. Do I recommend reading it? I wouldn't read it again, but you may love it.
